Play Station 3 Help

Can anyone with a PS3 help me with this problem I've been having?

Everytime I try to update a game (the pop up that notifies you that a new version, ex 1.09 for that game you are playing is availble) I click OK.

The time remaining is, ex 5 minutes, it starts to go up to 10% then stops and the remaining time goes up instead of down. Ex. 5 mins, 6 mins, 8 mins, 10.. etc

If you know anything to fix that, please post here cause I cant play multiplayer games cause of this...

I've had similar problems with my Wii, check your internet connection, always worked for me.

Like how? using an ethernet cable? I tried that once but it did the same thing. I usually use Wi-Fi, cause there isnt a ethernet jack in my room.

Hm, I use a ethernet cable, do you plug it into a modem?

Leave it unplugged for about a minute before you plug the PS3 in, thats what i have to do to make it work.

1. check your interent like dark said

2. just let it sit for ahwile and it should eventually stop...and start counting down again

Its alright guys i finally figured it out! I have to disable the media servers, after I did that the downloads went swell, i guess that means i can play Pure multiplayer with you now Alex =P

that always happens to me but it probably does that because my wireless internet port are in two seperate rooms
but this is what i do
i just keep on trying to download it and if it goes up i just cancel then i just try again
